Can you share a bit about your background and how long you've been a part of the Clayton County community?
My first experience in Clayton County was working for the Atlanta Gas Light Company some time ago. Starting in late 2020, it was my good fortune to be able to purchase and operate the commercial office space at 124 South Main Street (https://124southmainstreet.com/) in Jonesboro.
What do you think are the greatest strengths of Clayton County?
Clayton County has many strengths! Its greatest strength is its people who are friendly, engaging, smart, and industrious. The County leadership is thoughtful, creative, and committed to improving Clayton County.
In your opinion, what are some of the biggest challenges facing Clayton County right now? One of the biggest challenges facing Clayton County is to be able to continue to have an excellent quality of life (great schools, amenities, economic opportunity, welcoming environment) while incorporating the many newcomers to the County. The secret is out and the developments are coming nonstop!
Can you share a memorable experience or event that highlights the sense of community in Clayton County? Yes, I was able to participate in the City of Jonesboro’s/Clayton State’s/Clayton Chamber of Commerce training for small businesses in the August-October timeframe. I came away in awe of the many smart, creative small businesses operating in Clayton County along with the important information for operating a business.
How do you personally contribute to or engage with the Clayton County community? I personally contribute to Clayton County by working directly with small businesses and nonprofits in providing office space, conference room space, and virtual offices for their business operations. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with folks as they grow their businesses and nonprofits right here in vibrant, ever-expanding Clayton County.
