Clayton County Police and Firefighters to Face Off in 9/11 Basketball Showdown

Clayton County residents are invited to attend a special Police vs. Fire Basketball Showdown commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Presented by Commissioner Gail Hambrick and Clayton County Parks and Recreation, the community event will take place Friday, September 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Virginia Burton Gray Recreation Center in Riverdale.
Local police officers and firefighters will trade their uniforms for basketball jerseys and face off in a spirited matchup that brings the community together while honoring the significance of the day.
