Things to Do in Clayton County This Weekend: Atlanta Science Festival at Reynolds Nature Preserve.

The Atlanta Science Festival is bringing a morning of outdoor exploration and creativity to Clayton County with a special event at Reynolds Nature Preserve on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Hosted in partnership with Friends of Reynolds Nature Preserve and Clayton County Parks and Recreation, the event invites residents of all ages to experience science in a hands-on way while enjoying one of Clayton County’s most treasured natural spaces.
The activities begin at 10:15 AM and run through 12:30 PM, offering several opportunities for visitors to learn, explore, and connect with nature.
Nature Journaling (10:15 AM – 11:30 AM)
Participants will learn how to create and maintain a personal outdoor journal. Nature journaling encourages observation, creativity, and scientific curiosity while spending time outdoors.
Botanical Illustration 101 (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
This introductory workshop teaches the fundamentals of botanical illustration, including plant structure and the details to observe when drawing plants.
Guided Nature Hike (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
Guests can join a local naturalist for a guided hike through the trails of Reynolds Nature Preserve. This family-friendly walk highlights the plants, wildlife, and ecosystems that make the preserve a unique environmental resource in Clayton County.
All ages are welcome, making the event a great option for families, students, and anyone interested in science and the outdoors.
For convenience, shuttle service will be available from Babb Middle School.
