The Clayton County Board of Education is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and several items are expected to come before the Board.
Based on items discussed during the August 31 work session, the upcoming meeting could include decisions and updates involving district finances, school safety, career education, personnel, SPLOST projects, Board policies and the district’s arena.
Here are a few items to watch:
School Safety Funding
The Board is expected to consider a budget amendment connected to a School Safety Grant. The current agenda materials do not yet explain how much funding is involved or exactly how it would be used.
Career and Technical Education
Board members are expected to vote on approval of a CTAE grant. CTAE programs help students gain career-focused and technical skills while still in school.
SPLOST and Capital Projects
The Board is also expected to receive an update on capital improvement projects and SPLOST funding, which helps pay for school construction, renovations, technology and other major improvements.
