Riverdale residents will have an opportunity this month to learn more about a major transportation project that could help shape travel and development across the city and surrounding communities.
The City of Riverdale will host a town hall on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to share updates on the Southlake Bus Rapid Transit project. Residents will be able to meet project representatives, learn about transit-oriented development and anticipated community growth, and ask questions about the project.
What Is the Southlake BRT Project?
MARTA’s planned Rapid B-Line, also known as Southlake Bus Rapid Transit, is designed to provide faster and more reliable bus service in Clayton County. According to MARTA, the proposed 13.6-mile route will connect Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with the Southlake area.
Planned features include 19 improved stations, real-time arrival information, faster boarding, better pedestrian access, traffic-signal improvements and dedicated bus lanes along the corridor. MARTA currently lists the project in final design, with construction expected to begin in early 2029.
