The Clayton County Library System is bringing creativity and hands-on fun to the community with a special Paper Airplane Day event for children ages 8–12 at the Riverdale Branch Library.
Scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., the event invites young participants to design, decorate, and test their own paper airplanes while learning new folding techniques and enjoying interactive activities with other local children.

The event will take place at the Riverdale Branch Library, located at 420 Valley Hill Road SW in Riverdale. According to the flyer, children who already know how to make paper airplanes are still encouraged to attend and put their skills to the test to see whose airplane can fly the farthest.
Programs like this continue to show how local libraries provide more than books alone. The Clayton County Library System regularly offers educational and creative programming that gives children opportunities to learn, socialize, and explore new interests in a welcoming environment.
Families looking for free and engaging youth activities in Clayton County may want to add this event to their calendar. The Best of Clayton County enjoys highlighting community-centered programs that help connect local families with educational opportunities and fun experiences happening throughout the county.
For accommodations, attendees are encouraged to contact Youth Services through the library system.
