Clayton County continues to grow, and with that growth comes an increasing need for accessible, high-quality mental healthcare. This week, The Best of Clayton County is proud to highlight Lekesha McPhail, founder of CCW Behavioral Health Services, a local practice dedicated to serving individuals and families across our community.

Lekesha McPhail is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with more than 13 years of nursing experience. The majority of her career has been dedicated to serving individuals with mental health needs across hospital, community, and managed care settings.
In September 2025, she opened CCW Behavioral Health Services to expand access to compassionate, high-quality mental healthcare within Clayton County and surrounding communities. Since establishing her office locally, she has focused on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and cared for.
Strength in Community
When asked about Clayton County’s greatest strengths, Lekesha shared that connection and community support stand out the most. From the encouragement she received during her grand opening to letters of support from Clayton County officials, she has experienced firsthand how this community rallies around local business owners.
Addressing Local Challenges
One of the biggest challenges facing Clayton County right now is the growing need for stable housing and accessible mental healthcare. Lekesha has personally observed an increase in individuals experiencing housing instability, including those living in tents and wooded areas throughout the community.
According to recent community health assessments, Clayton County continues to face a shortage of behavioral health providers. Many residents experience barriers when trying to access timely mental health services.
Through CCW Behavioral Health Services, Lekesha is working to help close that gap by:
• Providing direct, patient-centered care
• Educating patients and families
• Promoting early intervention
• Reducing stigma surrounding mental health
• Participating in local health fairs and speaking engagements
Her long-term goal is to establish a nonprofit organization that will assist individuals who may not have insurance coverage or financial resources to receive the mental health services they need.
