Free CCPS Band Camp Performance Coming to Mt. Zion High School on June 19
Clayton County Public Schools is inviting the community to celebrate its talented student musicians during a free Band Camp Performance on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Presented by the Clayton County Public Schools Department of Fine Arts, the performance will give participating students an opportunity to showcase the musical skills, discipline and teamwork they developed during band camp.
The concert begins at 3:00 p.m. inside the Mt. Zion High School gymnasium, located at 2535 Mt. Zion Parkway in Jonesboro. Admission is free, and the entire community is encouraged to attend and support the students.

Special Guest Conductor
The performance will feature guest conductor Dr. Shelby Chipman, Director of Bands at Florida A&M University.
Students will have the opportunity to perform under the direction of an experienced collegiate band leader while sharing the results of their hard work with family members, educators and community supporters.

Community attendance can make a meaningful difference for young performers. Seeing family members, teachers, neighbors and local leaders in the audience lets students know that Clayton County values their dedication and artistic development.
The event is also an affordable summer activity for families because no admission fee is required.
