Free Sports Camp for Clayton County Youth Coming July 11
Clayton County families have an opportunity to register their children and teens for a free sports camp focused on athletic development, mentorship, leadership and important life skills.
Former NFL player Frank D. Murphy and the CCS Plan Legacy Institute are partnering with Sheriff Levon Allen and the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office to host the Frank D. Murphy Sports Choice Sports Camp on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
The free camp is open to youth ages 7 through 18. Space is limited, so parents and guardians are encouraged to register early.

More Than Athletic Training
The camp will combine sports drills and physical activity with guided conversations designed to help participants grow both on and off the field.
According to the event announcement, participants will learn about physical fitness, healthy living, leadership, decision-making, respect for authority and the importance of building positive relationships with members of law enforcement.
The program is designed to encourage young people to train, learn, lead and begin building a positive legacy within their families and communities.
Meet Frank D. Murphy
Frank D. Murphy is a former NFL player and a recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Through the CCS Plan Legacy Institute, Murphy uses sports, personal experiences and mentorship to encourage young people to recognize their potential and make positive choices.
