The Forge: Building Boys Into Men Comes to Jonesboro on July 18

Healing Hearts ATL presents The Forge: Building Boys Into Men, a powerful mentorship initiative created to empower boys through leadership, purpose, faith, and brotherhood.

The event will feature Derrick Jackson, Georgia State Representative, U.S. Navy veteran, community leader, and father. The message behind The Forge is clear: “The streets don’t have to raise our boys.”

The Forge is designed for boys ages 10–17 and will focus on building confidence, character, real relationships, stronger values, and a greater sense of direction.

Event Details Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026 Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM Location: Jim Huie Recreation Center Address: 9045 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA 30236 Audience: Boys ages 10–17 After The Forge, families are invited to stay for the Clayton County Back-to-School Bash from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The bash will include free backpacks, haircuts, school supplies, vendors, games, and more. The flyer also notes that participants can pre-register for free sneakers. Boys who complete The Forge program may receive two free pairs of sneakers during the school year. Community partners listed on the flyer include Kingdom Ready, Healing Hearts ATL, and Clayton County Parks and Recreation.
