Clayton County Police Department to Host “Hoops with Heroes” Youth Basketball Event in Rex

Clayton County youth will have an opportunity to show off their basketball skills while connecting with local law enforcement and community leaders at Hoops with Heroes, a basketball tournament and skills challenge presented by the Clayton County Police Department in partnership with Faith & Blue.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center. Event check-in begins at 10:45 a.m.

Hoops with Heroes is designed to bring youth, law enforcement officers, faith leaders, and community partners together through basketball while building trust and positive connections.

Skills Challenge Activities

Participants will have the opportunity to compete in:

• Free Throw Championship

• Half-Court Shot Challenge

• Three-Point Contest

The event will include two age divisions:

• Division I: Ages 10–14

• Division II: Ages 15–18

The event flyer also notes that four teams are needed for the 15–18 age division.
