CCPS Schedules Three Public Hearings on Proposed Property Tax Increase
Clayton County property owners will have three opportunities to learn more and share their opinions about the proposed 2026 property tax increase for Clayton County Public Schools.
The Clayton County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate of 20.000 mills. According to CCPS, the proposed rate is 2.42% above the rollback rate and would result in an estimated property tax increase of approximately $42.48 for a home valued at $250,000.
Actual tax amounts may vary based on a property’s assessed value and applicable exemptions.

Clayton County Board of Education Administrative Complex
1058 Fifth Avenue
Jonesboro, GA
No registration is listed. CCPS states that all concerned citizens are invited to attend the hearings and express their opinions regarding the proposed millage rate.
The Board of Education is scheduled to consider final adoption of the millage rate immediately following the September 23 public hearing.
The hearings were announced on September 8, 2026, and the official district release is dated September 9, 2026.
