Arts Clayton Celebrates 20th Annual Golf Classic, Bringing the Community Together to Support Arts Education
Golfers, community leaders, businesses, and supporters of the arts came together on Friday, October 9, 2026, for the 20th Annual Arts Clayton Golf Classic, a fundraising tournament supporting arts education, local artists, and creative programming throughout Clayton County.

Held at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club in Hampton, Georgia, the annual event marked two decades of bringing the community together through golf while raising support for one of Clayton County’s longstanding arts organizations.
The tournament began with registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Golfers participated in a morning of friendly competition, fellowship, and community support, with trophies and awards recognizing tournament participants.

But the day’s purpose extended far beyond the golf course.
Twenty Years of Golf Supporting a Greater Mission
For 20 years, the Arts Clayton Golf Classic has provided an opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to invest in something that benefits the entire community: access to the arts.
Through sponsorships, tournament participation, and contributions, the event supports Arts Clayton’s ongoing mission to make visual arts education and creative experiences accessible to residents throughout Clayton County and beyond.
The funds raised through the tournament support general arts programming and the organization’s Artist-in-Residence programs in local schools.
That support helps create opportunities for children to explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and experience forms of expression they might not otherwise encounter.
Arts Clayton’s Impact Reaches Beyond the Gallery
Located at 136 South Main Street in downtown Jonesboro, Arts Clayton has become an important part of Clayton County’s cultural community.
The nonprofit organization supports a variety of educational and creative initiatives, including:
Artist-in-Residence Programs: Bringing professional artists into local schools to provide students with hands-on arts education.
Student Art Exhibitions: Providing high school and college students opportunities to display their creative work.
Summer Art Camps: Introducing young people to artistic techniques, materials, and creative expression.
Community Murals: Supporting public artwork that adds beauty and character to neighborhoods throughout Clayton County.
Local Artist Exhibitions: Providing opportunities for painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramic artists, and other creatives to exhibit their work.
Specialty Art Shows and Competitions: Creating spaces where artists and residents can connect through artistic experiences.
These programs serve a purpose beyond displaying artwork. They give young people opportunities to discover new interests, help artists gain visibility, and bring residents together through shared cultural experiences.
Community Partnerships Help Keep the Arts Growing
The 20th Annual Golf Classic also demonstrated the importance of community partnerships.
Local businesses and organizations supported the tournament through sponsorships, while participating golfers contributed their time and resources to the fundraising effort.
The event’s sponsor displays, golf competition, awards, and gathering of supporters reflected the collaborative effort behind the annual tradition.
For organizations like Arts Clayton, these partnerships are essential to maintaining and expanding programs that serve local families, students, and artists.
A sponsorship may help make an art class possible. A contribution may help bring an artist into a school. And a community fundraiser can help sustain programs that introduce children to creative opportunities.
Those are the benefits that extend well beyond a single day on the golf course.
Looking Ahead: Continuing the Legacy of Arts Clayton
Reaching a 20-year milestone is an accomplishment for any community fundraising event.
For Arts Clayton, the anniversary represents two decades of bringing people together to support creativity, education, and community involvement.
The Best of Clayton County congratulates Arts Clayton, its leadership, tournament organizers, volunteers, golfers, and sponsors for their continued commitment to supporting the arts.
As Clayton County continues to grow, organizations that invest in education, culture, and creative opportunities remain important to the community’s future.
Congratulations to Arts Clayton on its 20th Annual Golf Classic and 20 years of bringing the community together through this tournament.
